Yoga Poses for Weight Reduction

The Yoga Poses for Weight Reduction are a sequence of moves that is fast moving and strenuous. This helps you to get rid of the excess flab around your waist and also give you a trim physique.


Start this sequence from a standing position by standing nice and tall with your spine erect. Bend forward and place your palms beside your feet. Lower your head to the level of your knees. Pause and then lift your body up. Inhale, and as you exhale, draw your belly button inwards and lift your arms to bring them above your head. Stretch your spine and pause at this position for between three and five breaths.


Lower your arms to join your palms at the level of your heart. Inhale, and place your palms beside your feet once again and then jump back or walk back your feet to make your spine horizontal to the mat.


Inhale, and lift your chest up, by straightening your arms and arch your spine. Exhale and lift your hips up to make them the highest point in your position. Lower your head in between your arms to come into a downward facing dog pose i.e. the Adho Muhko Svanasana.


Lift your right leg up to align it with the angle of your back. Pause at this stage and lower your leg to bring it under your chest. Pause and then lift your chest up to make your torso vertical and stretch your arms above your head. Pause and then lower your arms and join your palms at the level of your chest.


Turn your shoulders to your left and rest your left elbow on your right knee. Turn your face towards the ceiling to increase the twist to your neck and upper spine. Repeat this step by turning towards your right.


Repeat this sequence for between three to five times, or as long as you are comfortable and then exit this sequence.
